I have been experimenting with LaTeX and psfig. Rather nice. However, I am having a hard time with some of the images I want to put into my documents. Usually the scenario is something like I will have something up on my X screen. I will use xwd to dump it to a bitmap format. Then using xpr, I will convert the bitmap to a postscript document and then suck it into the latex file with psfig. Unfortunately, many times, I do not want all of the image that is dumped with the xwd command. Are there any visual tools to do cut/paste and/or modifications to bitmap or postscript images? Also, Is there a way to generate scalable text in xfig? Any help would be greatly appreciated. William H.
