Excuse my ignorance.

I have Windows running on a Northgate 386/33, with 4meg RAM,
and 100meg hard drive.  When I first installed Windows, some
4weeks ago, I checked the memory Windows thought I had.  That
figure was approximate 14000k (I checked in the File Manager -
'about file manager').  It was, as of this week, about 6000k
(i have a 4meg swapfile).  Today I re-installed Windows with
an 8meg swapfile - the memory figure displayed is 11111k.  So,
am I completely missing something?
The above is in Enhanced Mode.
    
The only reason I noticed is that for the past three weeks 
I have been running Omnipage 2.1 in Real Mode.  But, this
week I was given an 'Out of Memory' message.
