If I use the standard VGA driver, everything works great. However, if I use the high resolution drivers for the Orchid card, e.g. 800x600x256 colors, then Word documents lose all WYSIWYG characteristics. All of my Word files then look like a really bad draft mode, with some very ugly system type font. Everything else works fine in this mode, and I would really like to use this mode for all of my windows work. Does anyone know what the problem could be here? I installed the high-res drivers by copying them into my windows\system directory, and selected 800x600x256 in the Windows Setup program. I have followed all instructions as far as I know. The possible problems are with Windows software, Word software, Orchid driver, Orchid hardware, and ???? Thanks for any help. Please e-mail me replies, and I will post to the group if there is enough interest. Thanks, Ty Lasky lasky@iris.ucdavis.edu ps Sorry to all of you in comp.windows.ms.programmer. Won't happen again! :^)
