When I install windows, if I ask it to search the hard disk for applications, the installation process hangs, and I have to reboot the computer, and redo the entire installation process. This is a pain, but I got around it by skipping the install applications step in the main installation. However, my plan was to then use the Windows Setup routine inside of Windows, and just use the 'setup applications' option in the menu. Unfortunately, whenever I select this option, I get an "unrecoverable application error", so I have to add every application manually, using the 'New' option in the Program Manager. I have a 386/33 system, with a 160 Meg Micropolis ESDI hard disk, and Adaptec Controller card with 64k Cache. Does anyone know what is wrong here? Is there a solution? Thanks in advance, Ty Lasky lasky@iris.ucdavis.edu
