I have a friend with exactly the same problem, coincidently (?) with his
20Mhz 386 Gateway 2000 (his modem was factory fitted... bet hua's was too!)
If anybody knows a solution to this, please post it. (I  would have thought there
would be a work around).  I wonder if this is a hardware problem or a software
problem.
