Our solution:  Get rid of the paintjets and use laser printers.

I spent 1 year trying new and different things to get the paintjet
working faster (banding) with no luck.  The printer isn't as slow for 
non windows applications.  I was told one time that everything 
(graphics and text) gets turned into a pixel command.
