These tools require an X server which supports the Input Synthesis extension. Now, apparently, MIT's sample servers support the extension (at least optionally, there is an XINPUT flag in the server code...) To make a long story short, there is some device dependent code that needs to be written for a server to compile correctly with the extension. There are hints in mit/extensions/server and in the documentation on how to write the code. Has anybody written such code for any Sun or Digital servers? Would such a person be willing to make said code available? It seems that HP's server supports this extension - at least, the .o file that comes in server/ddx/hp has definitions for the missing procedures - this is no surprise, since the Xclientxr code is copyrighted by both HP and MIT... Please reply by e-mail. I'll post a summary. Thanks, R. Shapiro
