Can the X-Server grow due bugs or is it application caused ?

When I first start my application (before any windows are visible) the
size is text 247 pages, data 292 pages. (4K byte pages)

After running about 60 windows the size grows to
text 247 pages and data 1000 pages.

H/W: HP350 with 16MB memory
S/W: HP-UX 7.0, Motif 1.0, XR3.


I believe that the X-Server would basically continue growing monotonically ?
