We are looking to grow from an organization with two staff members and an $86,000 budget to an organization with a central office staff of 3, paid organizers in 5 regions, and a budget of $250,000 within the next 2 to 3 years. To actualize this goal, we are seeking an experienced community organizer who has led board and membership through a comparable organizational development and growth process. Salary level will be commensurate with experience and proven fund-raising ability. Description: The Executive Director organizes board & membership to develop and implement organizational objectives and action campaigns, raises organization's budget with board/membership assistance, and supervises organizers and administrative staff. Responsibilities: * Organize diverse, multi-issue constituency * Develop leadership & empower membership * Conduct board & membership training * Raise funds from both grassroots & foundataion/corporate communities * Manage staff to complete administrative tasks in a timely, professional manner Experience: * Five years organizing a broadbase, multi-issue constituency * Successful fund-raising, both grassroots & foundation/corporate * Proven ability to develop & involve leaders * Negotiation of complex issues within diverse constituency Salary: $2,166 to $2,833 per month ($26,000-$34,000 annually) plus limited benefits. * We encourage minorities and/or persons with disabilities to apply.
