I borrowed my friend's 1989 White Mercedes and (it was inadvertly) went back to the parking lot. Again I had my permit displayed in the open and again who should I see but *Rocky*. I really belive he did not recognize me for I did not get out of the car for fear of another confrontation. Well he walked right bye as did everyone else without as much as a question as I usually get. This is when I started to ask myself is there another variable involved, i.e., socioeconomic status. You see my car is a rusted old orange Datsun. To test my new hypothesis I took my permit down and sat for about 15 minutes listening to a tape and no one said a *word*. If nothing else I found it interesting and it did add another point of view (at least for me).
