My problem is that the news files get created with owner root and group wheel rather than owner news and group news. This means that expire which runs as user news cannot delete the old articles. All of my scripts run from crontab as user news and to the best of my knowlege, all of the news related files and programs are owned by news. Finally, when I was using news version 900118 and nntp version 1.5.7 under SunOS 4.0.3, everything worked correctly. I can't figure out if I have done womething different in the installation or if one of the new revs of some piece of software is causing me problems. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. -- ------------------------------------------------------ Morry Katz Rockwell Science Center administrator@rpal.com (machine administration issues) katz@rpal.com (other) ------------------------------------------------------ Brought to you by Super Global Mega Corp .com
