CS Dept, Ithaca NY Lines: 12 Approved: christian@aramis.rutgers.edu There have been several postings concerning rebaptism of converts to the Orthodox Church. In the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese (the largest Orthodox body in the U.S.) a convert from another denomination is not rebaptized provided that the original baptism was done in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and provided that it was done with water (sprinkling or immersion). Converts are required to receive the Sacrament of Chrismation, which is analogous to confirmation. Steve Vavasis vavasis@cs.cornell.edu
