Well I received a large number of very helpful suggestions, the best being to check out the student version of Autosketch. For $40.00 or so it does the job nicely. Anyone looking at using LaTex and wishing to incorporate drawings into your documentation should look at Autosketch. No hassles and relatively cheap. Thanks to everyone who sent suggestions.
