The company claims they were harassing other users and (gasp!) advertisers by sending out increasingly obnoxious e-mail messages by the bushel. The users, organized into something called the Coordinated Defense Campaign, say they were only letting people know about the impending e-mail charges (25 cents per message above a monthly free maximum of 30) and that they did not send to anybody who didn't want to hear from them.
