Single frame recording should be quite hard on transport mechanisms: rewind past insertion point, preroll for 5-8 seconds to achieve sync and speed, lay down frame, stop, and repeat the sequence 27,000 times for 15 minutes of video!!! I'd be interested in hearing from if anyone who has experience, positive or negative, with low end deck reliability.
