It seems like it wouldn't be too difficult to write a substitute for
/bin/mail in Perl.  Even a mail-reader (without mail-composer) would be
remarkably useful to me (I'd like to run it with MSDOS-perl on unix mail
files on a non-unix PC).

Has anyone done this?  Alternately, any brilliant design ideas before I
begin?
