The problem turned out to be in my BIOS. I needed to get a more recent version from the manufacturer. I doubt the problem is the controller since it DOES read the floppy. It's more likely that the BIOS doesn't know how to tell the controller to do the higher density format. Ed ekalenda@cup.portal.com
