It seems as if my OS2.INI file was never properly updated when I installed the 8514/A; the symptom is that the Control Panel box is too small, and portions of the control panel aren't visible. (And this is NOT a resizable box.) If I boot under DOS, rename the os2.ini file to (eg) os2.jun, and then reboot, I get an appropriately-sized control panel, but (surprise, surprise) the rest of my environment is blown away. So, the question is: how does one modify an OS2.INI file in a sensible way? What does (for instance) makeini.exe do? What is the purpose of the os2ini.rc file? Could I modify this and have changes made to it show up in my os2.ini file? Any ideas would be much appreciated.
