The reccoware (CUMANA) OS9 is fine and there are hardware shops nearby. From: grunwald@Toronto.ira.uka.de (Grunwald Betr. Tichy) Path: Toronto!grunwald There will be an OS9-Implementation by reccoware for the Atari TT, which will give you an OS9/68030 - Workstation for under 10000 DM (~7000 $) including the OS9. You can even run OS9000 on it. If you don't know the specs here are some of them. 14 '' VGA - Monitor, highest resolution 1280*800 4 MB main memory, expandable to 14 MB 48 MB Harddisk minimum 32 MHz 68030 with 68882 SCSI, Atari DMA (very nice for Laserprinters, you don't have to wait for the transmission of pictures.) and some others If you want a high performance OS9 - System you should think of the TT, since the price/performance - value is very good. Even a Mega ST 4 with Harddisk and OS9 costs about 5000 DM and has no 6888x, no super high res., no SCSI and only a 8MHz 68000. This may seem fast for a coco OS9er, but the ST has its limits and if you want to use TEX you will learn them very fast. I had a OS9-coco until 3 years ago, but compared to the ST it is just to slow. Knut Grunwald, Maximilianstrasse 25, 6729 Jockgrim, FRG P.S. I am not an employee of Atari nor of reccoware or Cumana. I am just satsified by the Cumana OS9. My Atari is fine too, but only if you have the price in mind. Since i used PC's on industry jobs, i know that the quality of cheap PC's is even worse than Atari's. (I used an original IBM too. This one killed my WORDSTAR texts twice a day, so i was not very happy with it. May be i was just bad luck ...)
