Message-ID: <21762@duke.cs.duke.edu> Date: 14 Nov 90 22:56:45 GMT Sender: news@duke.cs.duke.edu Reply-To: jfw@neuro.duke.edu (John F. I have heard of CDC/Imprimis Wren, Micropolis, and Maxtor, which are in the $3000-$4000 price range for the 1gig variety. Fujitsu has just come out with one that will be on the cheaper side (despite having a 5-year warranty). And I believe Micronet makes one, which costs a bit more than the rest. Does anyone have recommendations or caveats for drives of this size? I will be using it for storing digitized sound, so random access seek time is important, though total throughput while writing is also important. My biggest concern, though, is data reliability, so I want to make sure I find a company and retailer I can count on. Please e-mail and I will summarize.
