An upgrade to v3.36 ROMs and software is highly recommended. As far as I'm concerned, SMARTDRV is a waste of memory, no matter what options you give to SSTBIO.SYS. I've had no problems running Windows 3.0 with the following drivers in my config.sys file: either the HIMEM.SYS or QEMM386.SYS (v5.1) SSTBIO.SYS EGA.SYS (for window's EGA stuff) I just dropped whatever else the windows program wanted to load up.
