Lansing Lines: 42 Greetings; I have a question regarding the performance of our GatorBox. Configuration: We have a GatorBox which we are using to NFS mount users directory from a SUN 4/390. We are running GatorShare 1.5 on the GatorBox and all the MACs are conneted to Ethernet as follows. | | GatorBox MAC MAC MAC Repeater | | | | | | | | | | | | ---|-------------------------------------------------------------| | Thin Ether | | | SUN4/390 We have used a network analyzer to check the configuration of the GatorBox and according to our network manager everything is functioning as it is suppose to! Now the question: Users can mount their home directory but when they try to open it it takes a long time (specially first time after mounting). Does anybody have similar experience? Is it possible to speed it up? Thanks for your help. -Mahmoud Pegah pegah@pleiades.cps.msu.edu AI/KBS Laboratory Computer Science Dept Mich State Univ
