I usually turn mine on in the morning and off at the end of the WORK day. I think it's well worth waiting the extra seconds to boot for the convenience and flexibility of switching operating systems. I don't need to bring my Mac IIci to the dealer just to upgrade to a new OS. And if there's a problem with the new OS, I can always just easily reload the old system back.
