Message-ID: <7589.273dd7a1@jetson.uh.edu> Date: 12 Nov 90 04:58:40 GMT Organization: Univ. of Houston, College of Technology Lines: 22 I have a question about Ram expansion. I have a 520ST that was expanded to a total of 1Meg with the Easie ST solderless Ram board by AERCO. I am now thinking of expanding my ram to 2+ megs. My first question: The ram board (bank1 or ST memory) has 2 banks of chip sockets, with currently 1 set filled to making up 512K which, I was wondering if I went and added more ram to that extra bank would the board still function properly (thus giving me a wierd config of 1.5megs total)? BTW, are these 64K-bit or are they 250k-bit chips? I did inquire sometime ago about adding 1mega-bit chips to the board and I was told that CMOS 511-000 @120ns or better were fine. First, what exactly are 1M-bit chips and how many are required to make 1Meg ram? 8? What are the current prices for 1M-bit ram chips and where could I get some? Anyone else have this particular Ram board and any info on it? -- Paul Sears The Univ. of Houston |"The greater an individual's power Student of the College of Technology | over others, the greater the evil that RCTE2P@Jetson.uh.edu *** | might possibly originate with him."
