Message-ID: <1990Nov12.022229.1087@dynas.se> Date: 12 Nov 90 02:22:29 GMT Organization: DynaSoft, Dynamic Software AB Lines: 19 I have successfully reformatted my old MFM drive (Seagate ST251-1) with my new RLL 1:1 controller. It all seems to works quite well. In fact it works almost too well... During the badtrack scan only one of the 25 tracks listed on my badtrack list was found. Is this normal? Is it possible for the controller to correct worse errors when using RLL than with MFM? (When I formatted it with an MFM controller all the 25 tracks were found) To make sure I won't get any unpleasant surprises later I would like to enter the badtracks not found by the media scan. Unfortunatelly my bad track list only lists Head, sector and "MBFI". How do I translate this MBFI (MFM Byte Offset from Index?) value to an RLL Byte Offset value ("RBFI"?) ? /Johannes -- Johannes Sjogren sgren@dynas.se DynaSoft, Dynamic Software AB Phone: +46-8-726 85 60 Liljeholmsv 10, S-117 43 STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN Fax: +46-8-18 11 45
