Or am I missing something else that's vital? I have a Fujitsu 2227D 40meg MFM hard disk that's giving me grief. It was reporting lots of bad sectors (>250 k worth), so I backed it up and tried to low-level reformat it. I can't -- DiskManager reports "I/O ERROR TRACK 0 HEAD 0" and quits. The low-level formatter built into the motherboard (AMI bios) comes back with "UNKNOWN COMMAND", though it worked fine for a different MFM drive. Can I get this thing fixed at a reasonable price? Should I try something else first? Do I now have an expensive paperweight? Please e-mail suggestions, etc. -- our news feed is awfully flaky. Thanks. Dave O'Heare oheare@gandalf.ca +1 613 723 6500 --
