I have a 1490 (the older model) and the color is excellent. The only reason I would trade it would be for a 19" monitor like you get with Sun's and Apollo's workstations. I've had it 2.5 yrs and it has been completely reliable. Occasionally the "picture" gets a little wavey at the left margins/borders, but this is not a regular or constant thing - it comes & goes (mostly goes) & has not gotten any worse in the last year. Hooked to a VGA card, the resolution and color combination is unbeatable. THe catch (there always is one) is the the 1490 that I have only goes to VGA resolution - it is not multisynch. I'm fairly sure the 1492 is the same way - in fact I'm not clear on the difference/.Anyone out there have a "diff" on the 2 monitors? chad price price@fergvax.unl.edu
