     It's possible that the BIOS in your system is not "V20-clean" (there are
a couple of minor differences, which are easy to avoid in your own code but
may be present in somebody else's.  I'd expect those to be consistent and
reproducable, but it's possible that the interrupt latency is not quite what
something expects it to be.
