Message-ID: <1990Nov16.172532.15595@portia.Stanford.EDU> Date: 16 Nov 90 17:25:32 GMT Organization: Stanford Law School Lines: 27 Hi! I am now the proud owner of a 1mb (720kb formatted) 3.5 drive. I just installed it in place of one of the two 5.25 drives in my 286. And it works! I'm happy! But, it will only format at 360k. It will read a disk that has 720k of space/data, but only format to 360k. I *suspect* it's cause of the controller, and that I ought to be happy that it even works at all without replacing same, but is that it, and are there things I should check before making a fool of myself at the computer store? :-) I don't know what controller it is, all I know is the board is int ehre with lots of little ribbon-wires coming out of it going to my hard drive, and the two floppies. :-) Should I start playing with dip-switches?
