In Word 3.02 I used to print alternate pages throught the Page Preview mode.
Note, however, that the file must be set up with Facing Pages (in Page Setup).

I don't know if it still works with 4.0, because I haven't had need of that
feature recently, but it would greatly surprise me if it didn't still work.
