A friend of mine is asking for information on a package he read
about that allows for limited desktop publishing ("you can put
together a newsletter, sorta," he said), but has its strengths
as a sales info package.  It allows you to track sales from
month to month, build a client database, do mailers, etc.

I had never heard of such a package.  Has anyone?  Also, if
inappropriate for this newsgroup, and better suited to another,
please accept my apologies and let me know to whom I should be
posting this.
