I'm the author of one of GEnie's multiplayer games A-Maze-ing (a 3D maze combat game) and am on GEnie constantly. I thought I'd confirm this stuff for you. Yes, it is $4.96 for unlimited mail and lots of other services. These other services include a number of bulletin board areas on "leasure/hobby" topics. And, as previously mentioned, GEnie is charging $6 per hour for 300/1200/2400 baud access. They've pulled all the services that come under the $4.95 a month heading over into a seperate block of menus so you can easily wander through them without getting charged. If you DO get on GEnie, be sure to take a look at what's on the other set of menus. There are a lot of things there that are worthwile including all the CB/Chat areas and multiplayer games. The new GEnie Star*Services are really a pretty good deal, I recommend it. Disclaimer: I'm not a GEnie employee, but I do get paid royalties on the game I developed for them. Make of that what you will....(but if you do get on GEnie, stop by in my game and say Hi!)
