I want to port a unix program which uses Internet domain sockets.  Is this possible under MacOS?

Details:  The program is essentially an X client that acts as a gateway between a serial line and the local X server (hopefully MacX in this case).

Of course if there is already a way to get MacX (or someone elses Mac X server) to talk over a serial line please let me know.
