You obviously know pathetically little about the NeXT system if you'd try to compare even NeXTstep 0.9 to the equivalent Macintosh System and Finder combination. The first NeXT I bought ran NeXTstep 0.9, and it only crashed on me a handful of times; in comparison, my Macintosh (with a relatively pristine System folder) would crash with appalling frequency. That was running the version of 6.0.x which was out at the time - it's sad when NeXT's 0.9 system software is more stable than Apple's 6.0 release. Then again, it was built on a mature operating system. Furthermore, to take your ill-advised comparison further, by "NeXT standards", System 7.0 is NOT available for the Mac, since it is NOT shipping with every machine. You see, every NeXT owner got to experience 0.8 and 0.9 if they had their system that long. $-) BTW, NeXTstep 2.0 will ship this week/next week. How about System 7.0? -Declan
