I guessed the question was a bit stupid, but in fact the documentation is extremely bad. In summary, the negative of the volume number turns up in sfSaveDisk. This is _never_ a folder number. Also, the Directory ID (ever used one?) turns up in CurDirStore. I used these as input to PBGetCatInfo to get the full story on the files. Incidentally, in System 7, there is a new set of routines for dealing with standard file opening. The old ones still work, but if you have hook routines they will work in a slightly restricted way.
