StuffIt Deluxe is not a free or shareware product. Otherwise, I am not sure I understand how the author got into this position. In fairness to Ray Lau and Alladin, I would like to point out that it is possible to create StuffIt 1.5.1 compatible archives with Classic. My $0.02: StuffIt Classic is an excellent product, and a generous contribution at this time, considering that Alladin is trying to launch Deluxe as a commercial product. After paying my StuffIt shareware fee, I never expected to see an update. Having gone out on a limb with Classic, it must be a bit disconcerting for Ray Lau to see so much 'bad press' on the net, particularly when many of the comments have said little more than 'why can't I figure out how to ... download c.b.m files'. (disclaimer -- this comment refers to the ongoing "send me part # of StuffIt Classic 'thread' ", not to the reasonable request of .)
