It comes with a generic text editor which performs the CR/LF translation on opens and saves (Unix and other systems end lines with a line feed; MacOS uses carraige returns). Unfortunately, this editor is your basic TeachText format, and what I really want is a full blown text editor (with programming utilities) -- something on the order of Vantage (aka McSink) or the Think C editor. I vaguely recall from Inside Mac that the primitive reads can be set to perform the appropriate translations. My question: * Do any editors exist that make use of that feature? * Is it possible (within reason) to patch up an existing editor to do this? * Has anyone seen a Vantage external to do this? Please respond via E-mail. Thanks. Bill Cramer | "The greed of the few outweighs IEX Corporation | the needs of the many." Plano, Texas | -- popular American theme {uunet, convex, ntvax}!iex!cramer |
