Check your DISPLAY environment variable. I had to the line in my login file to setenv DISPLAY localhost:0 Anyone know what's going on here? I don't have the xemacs man page so I haven't found any info. on the DISPLAY environment variable. xterm and xman at least works fine with the original DISPLAY :0 or with localhost:0. This leads me to my 2nd question. II) Is there an easy way, given a random environment variable, to find out to which program(s) it belongs? tschuess INTERNET: burow%13313.hepnet@csa3.lbl.gov burkhard DECNET: 13313::burow
