I am using the apalike bibliography style, and this is what happens:

    right margin
	   V
blah [somebody famous, 1990]

It seems latex does not hyphenate the names in citations or break the line
between the name and the year.  Running over the margin like this is not
acceptable, and nothing I have tried works.  Does anyone have a solution?
