Stanley) Newsgroups: comp.windows.ms Subject: floppy drives Message-ID: <95@marilyn.UUCP> Date: 10 Nov 90 08:14:09 GMT Organization: Litfal Lines: 20 I have a CompuAdd 386/16 with 1.44Mb and 1.2Mb floppy drives and 4Mb of memory. I'm using Windows 3.0. When I select a floppy drive from either the File Manager or an application, I always get the File Manager window all stretched out and strange for a split second and then the machine reboots. The same exact thing happens whether I'm in the File Manager or in an application. What could the problem be? I can get directories of the disks in either drive from the DOS prompt with no problem. This only happens in protected mode; in real mode it doesn't seem to have any problems, except that the software I'm trying to access needs to be run in protected mode. (It doesn't matter what I try to access, whether it's the software I want to install or just to get a directory of any disk in either drive.) -- Shawn P.
