The "remote graphics breakout module" (RGB box) is directly connected to the MVME393/395 graphics board. Hence, the only access to the RGB box is through the Xserver code downloaded to the MC68020/TI34010 that exist on the boards. It's been a while since I dug through the Xserver code but I don't recall any way to manipulate the sound chip for any purposes except the bell (which is controlled by the 68020 as I remember).
