Further investigation has revealed that

(1) I don't know how to spell:

There's also references to the following classes in <Xm/VendorE.h>:
	xmDesktopObjectClass, xmDisplayObjectClass, xmScreenObjectClass,
	xmWorldObjectClass.

And xmDesktopObjectClass declares a new resource XmNdesktopParent (file
Xm/Desktop.c).

Answers anybody?
