 I think that, for the most part, the sentiment is not anti-NFB, per se,
 but rather a reaction against those few who blindly follow the party
 line without thinking for themselves.

 As the song from Gilbert and Sullivan's "HMS Pinafore" goes:

    and I never thought of thinking for myself at all...
