I literally had to figure almost all of it out on my own. Here are some things I learned: (1) I could not use the kind of external with the separate adhesive and sheath. Caused excoriations. (2) I learned that you have to knead the penis from bottom to top once the condom is on, I suppose to heat up the adhesive and make it stick longer. (3) The loop of the tube from the condom to the leg strap is critical for me. If the loop isn't just right there's a good chance of either kinking near the source or pulling away where the condom meets the tube. (4) Though the packages always say don't use more than 24 hours, I've found I have to make a careful evaluation at bedtime to decide whether to install a fresh one or not. (5) The brand that works for me is Holister External Male Catheter. The leg bag and drainage bag that work for me are by Conveen. Is this the kind of information you want, or are you looking for less basic stuff? I'd like to read your article when it's published, or earlier if you like. -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!261!1000!Harry.London Internet: Harry.London@f1000.n261.z1.fidonet.org
