The sponsor then came forward with the news that up to 50% of the drug was being adsorbed into the plastic IV bags in which it was soluted. The clinical trial (ACTG 038) was reopened (this time delivering the drug in glass bottles) and is still recruiting at the University of Pittsburg Medical Center in Pittsburg. Results are pending. bb ---------------------- Replied Message Body ---------------------- Date: 11-14-90 7:09pm From: {aids@cs.ucla.edu}:unix:niaid To: bill barrick:10:niaid Subj: (2741) ampligen Also-to: multiple recipients of list aids -------------------------------------------------------------------- >From: island!island.uu.net!green@uunet.UU.NET (Robert Greenstein) Newsgroups: sci.med.aids Approved: ddodell@stjhmc.fidonet.org (David Dodell) Subject: ampligen Date: 13 Nov 90 19:04:32 GMT Distribution: usa Organization: Island Graphics, Marin County, California Note: Copyright 1990 by Daniel R. Initial reports were that this drug holds great promise (haven't we heard that one before) and that the HEM Corporation, which developed the drug, was conducting trials. Any information as to its efficacy or the its approval status (FDA, etc) would be appreciated. <]v Via SCI.MED.AIDS => AIDSNEWS gateway / aids@cs.ucla.edu
