A few of the Plan 9 developers who spoke at the EUUG conference this July did say that they had some intentions to make it available (with the rider: "if it's made available in any form at all, it will be in *source*, and we'll do our best to ensure that it isn't standardised" or words to that effect) but gave no details as to timescale or on what terms or to whom.
