Some 2400 bps modems do have a problem connecting with the USRs at 2400 bps. It also occurs with other V.32 modems. There are some things that can be done with the Dual Standard modems to minimize the problem. The ATI7 command displays the ROM revision levels. You want the following or later: Supervisor 09/29/89 IOP 08/08/89 DSP 09/18/89 Also, setting S28 to zero helps. Contrary to the implication in the manual, it does not disable V.32. Some of the problem is in the calling modems. Everex has a free upgrade for their modems that is supposed to fix the problem.
