There hase been no traffic on basic in this group and I have seen nothing in the two groups you mentioned. Why do you think a group needs to be split for this? How much traffic on basic is there currently? As an aside, I think it would be useful for proponents of splitting newsgroups to include traffic statistics in their call for discussion or an explaination of why traffic is not relavant to the discussion. -- Richard H.
