As you know, Microsoft C 5.01 is almost unavailable, so if you want >to go the Microsoft route, you'll be in a bind for a little while. Well, I missed the original article, but the above information is somewhat out of date. If you're looking for a compiler that works with Oracle, then Microsoft C is your best bet. Oracle currently supports *both* 5.0 and 5.1 of the Microsoft compiler (with both the 5.1b and 5.1c versions of the Tools/Pro*C, I believe); Oracle will support version C 6.0 with the v6.0 version of Tools/Pro*C (the similarity in version numbers is quite shocking), but this is not production yet. Lattice C support will be dropped in Oracle v6.0, and Turbo C is not currently supported. Obligatory disclaimer: I don't speak for Oracle, I just work there. ----------------------- (: smile! you're on usenet! :) ------------------------ AT: jeras@oracle.com | "It's a terrible waste BANG: ...{pacbell,hplabs,apple,decwrl}!oracle!jeras | to lose one's .sig, or FLAME: /dev/null (nyuk, nyuk) | not to have one at all."
