Greetings, I have a nice NEC printer that has the low friction guide that now
no longer keeps the pins in line.  Does anyone know of a good source for the
print heads. (I forget the exact model name) I called NEC and got "oops we
can not get you to our parts people... Bad phone service here at NEC", but 
they did refer me to some place.  I called them and got a nope, don't make
those anymore.

Anyway, I have a nice 9 pin centronics interface NEC printer (looks alot like
a C.Itoh/Imagewriter I engine) with a bad pin guide.  Anyone know where I can
get a replacement front to the print head along with a few new pins without
having to pay a guy $50 to say "Guess we have to order this part" and a month
later have them say "Gee, we couldn't get a replacement part... Another $50
please" or they find a print head and say "The cost of the replacement plus
labor - about 5 minuets, but we charge a miniumn of 1 hour - is $300"
($50 hour labor and $250 for the head that is reconditioned).

Since the NEC printer looks like another one, can someone tell me if it is 
possible for me to get another manufactor's print head and pop it in without
having to fork out enough money to buy a new printer with?


Also, I have a C.Itoh 8510 color printer that uses Imagewritter ribbons. (just
like the NEC one above ;-)) Does anyone know who makes the color ribbons for
this guy?  Imagewriter II ribbons don't work :-(.
